2nd Annual A.G. Geiger Art Book Fair Returns to Chinatown

Bringing together artists, booksellers and fine art enthusiasts in historic Chinatown, Los Angeles, the A.G. Geiger Book Fair is a unique event that is free and open to the public. Modeled on the art book fairs presented by Printed Matter in New York and Los Angeles, The A.G. Geiger Book Fair is regionally focused and convenes primarily West Coast based artists, presses, zines and independent publishers in a lively festival atmosphere.

WHERE:
The A.G. Geiger Fine Art Book Store hosts the fair in front of its shop in the Chinatown West Plaza adjacent to Chung King Road where there are several art galleries as well as nearby restaurants and bars.

The 2017 installation of the A.G. Geiger Art Book Fair For 2017, has increased its footprint in the Chinatown Plaza and has expanded programming to include spoken word performances by nationally popular poets Brendan Constantine and Rich Ferguson, industry insights from renowned independent publisher Kirk Pederson of Zero + Publishing, as well as more music and animated film shorts to be announced shortly. Opened on May 28, 2016, A.G. Geiger specializes in contemporary California artists. . Presenting a carefully curated collection of rare exhibition catalogs, monographs and fine art books, A.G. Geiger celebrates the continuing contribution to world culture by artists based in the Golden State. The bookstore is named after the one in Raymond Chandler’s novel The Big Sleep. A mural by street artist “SEL” of the actress Dorothy Malone who played a bookstore clerk in the film adorns the façade.

A.G. Geiger Fine Art Books is open Thursday – Sunday from 1-6pm and regularly hosts readings, signings, film screenings and music. The store located at 502 Chung King Ct, Chinatown, Los Angeles CA 90012. All titles are available on aggeiger.com.
