It might seem like aquariums are cruel, keeping rightfully-grumpy animals in captivity.

But many aquariums do a lot of good stuff. They rehabilitate injured or sick animals, do tons of valuable research, like at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Most importantly, they hope to inspire a love of nature in young people.

They also inspire some daring and crazy escapes.
