Abigail George is a Pushcart Prize and Best Of The Net nominated blogger, essayist, poet, writer, playwright and novelist. She is the recipient of four writing grants from the National Arts Council in Johannesburg, the Centre for the Book in Cape Town and ECPACC in East London. She briefly studied film at the Newtown Film And Television School in Gauteng. In 2006 her poetry "The Accident" was the Identity Theory's Editor's Choice for Spring, "Shura" was longlisted for the Sol Plaatje EU Poetry Award in 2014 and in 2016 her poem "When Light Poured Into Me At The Swimming Pool" made Ink, Sweat and Tears Shortlist For The Month of September. She is the writer of 15 books and is working on a screenplay. She has two chapbooks "Of Bloom And Smoke" (Mwanaka Media And Publishing, ed. Tony Garcia) and "The Anatomy of Melancholy" (Praxis Magazine, ed. JK Anowe) forthcoming in 2020 and a book of short stories "Parks And Restoration" (MMAP).
