Gabriel Lopez is a burgeoning writer from Southeast LA, California. Born in Huntington Park and raised in Maywood, Gabriel's upbringing made him acutely aware of the poverty, crime and environmental racism afflicting his community, which are themes that are often explored in his work. His passion for writing arose after a formative year in AP Literature that he took his senior year of high school. He's currently studying to earn his bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy, and continues writing in hopes of publishing his own collection of poetry.
