Gary Lemons has published 7 books of poetry. His 8th—Original Grace—book 4 in the “Snake Quartet”—will come out in the Spring of 2021 with Red Hen Press. He attended the University of Iowa Undergraduate Writers Workshop from 1971–73 where he studied with among others John Berryman. Donald Justice, William Stafford, Marvin Bell and Norman Dubie. As a member of a cooperative of poet tree planters he planted over 500,000 trees in the clearcuts of the Pacific Northwest. He lives in Port Townsend, WA, where he and his partner teach yoga and hang out with Whoopie their little rescue dog.
