Jonathan Pacheco Bell was born in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles and raised by his headstrong single mother and grandmother in East Los Angeles/Montebello. Jonathan is a Los Angeles County urban planner and a fierce advocate for the unincorporated areas of South Central Los Angeles. His passion for South Central L.A. was born in 1988 when he first heard NWA’s groundbreaking album Straight Outta Compton. Today, you’ll find him in the unincorporated community of Florence-Firestone partnering with stakeholders to improve quality of life. A product of the California public school system from kindergarten to graduate school, Jonathan holds an MA in Urban Planning from UCLA and will soon complete an MLIS from SJSU iSchool.
