Mary Meriam has a BA in Literature from Bennington College and an MFA in Poetry from Columbia University. She is the editor of Lavender Review: Lesbian Poetry and Art and the co-founder of Headmistress Press, which publishes poetry books by lesbians. She is the author of My Girl’s Green Jacket (2018) and The Lillian Trilogy (2015), both from Headmistress Press. She has also published Lady of the Moon, with Amy Lowell and Lillian Faderman, and the anthology, Irresistible Sonnets. Her essays have been published in The Critical Flame, The Gay & Lesbian Review, and Ms. Her poems appeared recently in Poetry, Post Road, Prelude, Subtropics, and The Poetry Review. Pools of June was published by Exot Books in 2022. Since 2018, she has worked as a mentor professor in the University of Arkansas-Monticello MFA Program.
