Matthew Graham holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from SUNY Binghamton, a Master of Arts in Poetry from The Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Fine Arts from the Iowa Writers Workshop, the University of Iowa. He is the author of four collections of poetry, most recently The Geography of Home, and is the recipient of awards and fellowships from the Academy of American Poets, Pushcart, the Indiana Arts Commission and the Vermont Studio Center. Graham is a Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Southern Indiana and is the current Indiana State Poet Laureate. He is married to the painter Katie Waters.
