Stephanie Han’s debut fiction collection Swimming in Hong Kong (Willow Springs Books) won the Paterson Fiction Award and was the finalist for the AWP, Spokane, and Asian Books Blog prizes. The poems are excerpts from her manuscript Passing in the Middle Kingdom, a finalist for the Wilder Poetry Prize. Her short fiction was recognized by the South China Morning Post, Nimrod International, and Santa Fe Writer’s Project, and supported by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, PEN, and VONA. The inaugural English Literature PhD graduate of City University of Hong Kong, Han lives in Hawaii, home of her family since 1904.
