DTLAB + WLP News

OK! Ass deep in our #90fo90 DTLAB project!

But I wanted to fill you in on a couple of big news items and mention a few of the amazing events coming up at the LAB.

10! 10! 10!

As the old saying goes, the first 10 events of a 90 events in 90 days is always the most difficult 10 events. Yes? Yes. We wholeheartedly agree, especially if those 10 events are preceded by a pivot the likes of which you haven’t witnessed since James Worthy spinning baseline in his prime.

But we did it. We got to our 10th event (a fantastic conversations regarding Romeo & Juliet with reps from The Music Center and Shakespeare Center LA) intact. And we are building steam as we move forward.

We just have to do 8 more of these sets of 10 and we’ll be at the finish line!

If you haven’t joined us yet for any of our events, you are really missing out. Check out our calendar, which we will continue to update, pick a night or five, and come by for some fun times.

FANTASTIC FOUR

To celebrate our 10th event, we headed over to a different bar down the street for some whiskey. And while there, we popped the question.

And Jessica Ceballos said yes.

The one and only Jessica Ceballos is now the fourth member of Writ Large Press, joining myself, Judeth Oden Choi, and Peter Woods. She will now get a quarter of our vast wealth.

The fact is this was long time coming. She’d always been an unofficial partner, working with us in pretty every project, including DTLAB. Having her officially in the fold, we feel even more excited than ever about the things we can achieve.

It is a happy and momentous (I mean, momentous for a tiny ass literary press in LA) event in WLP history.

Not only will we be exponentially better for it, but we believe the community overall will benefit in a huge way.

Welcome, Jessica Ceballos!
