We fell in love with Cristóbal Vila when we saw his short film Inspirations. Now the Spanish filmmaker has released a new work, Lux Aeterna.
“I wanted to a look into light from several points of view,” Vila told us. “It’s a powerful radiation emitted by the most distant stars in the universe, and also by our sun; light floods everywhere in nature, from the largest things to the smallest, creating interesting and beautiful effects. Humans always used light as a symbolic and spiritual element, and it is a physical phenomenon deeply studied by science.”
Vila set this film essay to music by Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. Vila has incorporated a detailed discussion of light on his website, as well.
