Happy Birthday, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Sherlock_Holmes_Portrait_PagetSherlock Holmes is probably modern literature’s most enduring character, more copied, tweaked, transformed and emulated than any other. Holmes was created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was born May 22, 1859; the master detective first appeared in the novel A Study in Scarlet, written in 1887 when Doyle was 28 years old.
In this rare video, Sir Arthur tells the story of how Sherlock Holmes came to be, as well as his lifelong fascination with psychic experiences.
