One For My Father
A lot of people don’t have their dad
So I’m more than lucky, I’m blessed.
When it comes to raising me
he wasn’t perfect but he did his best.
I confess we may not always see
eye to eye, but he taught me to
take pride in my work, be humble
and serve God. He protects
and serves his family and he will
until he dies. I take pride in my
last name being Jones. I’m glad
I live in the City of Champions,
a place I can call home.
On Crenshaw streets I may roam,
but on Manchester & Van Ness
lies my home. They say home
is where the heart is and my
Heart is right here in Inglewood.
