That’s The Tank. It’s is an acoustical marvel, a spiritually altering experience found nowhere else on earth. A 60’ tall, 30’ across rusted steel water tank – never used – was discovered in Colorado by sound artist and sonic thinker Bruce Odland in 1976. A small group of musicians has been recording there ever since.
Situated near the dirt hills of Rangeley, Colorado, The Tank is a sonic wonder of the world with a shifting, swirling reverberation longer and richer than the Taj Majal or the Great Pyramid.
But The Tank is in need of serious repair, so Odland and his friends have launched a Kickstarter campaign. They need to raise $42,000 by March 31, 2013.
Visit their Kickstarter page to learn more, watch their video, and make a contribution to save this world-class acoustic marvel.
