Here’s our next Look What She Did! video, featuring Ellen Gavin on Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, an unstoppable woman who led one of the most successful strikes in U.S. history, the Bread & Roses Strike. Although she was imprisoned numerous times, Gurley Flynn kept fighting throughout her life for fair treatment of immigrants, factory workers, African Americans, and other oppressed people. Take inspiration from this kick-ass woman.
Check out powerhouse Ellen Gavin:
“Her Italian Anarchist lover got out of jail and wanted to spend time with her. She said, ‘There are other people in jail. Sorry, that’s the priority.'” – Elizabeth Gurley Flynn
With our new video project, Look What She Did!, we are creating an ongoing archive of short videos celebrating crazy-great women as told to us by… crazy-great women. See more videos posted on our YouTube channel and our Facebook page. All of us working on this project are having a blast and are fired up about sharing these inspiring stories with you.
