Amy Small-McKinney, Montgomery County PA Poet Laureate Emeritus, 2011, is the author of six poetry books, including her newest full-length, & You Think It Ends (Glass Lyre Press, 2025). Her second full-length book, Walking Toward Cranes, won The Kithara Book Prize (Glass Lyre, 2016). She has been published in numerous journals, for example, American Poetry Review, Banyan Review, The Indianapolis Review, The Cortland Review, Comstock Review, Connotation Press, One Art, Pedestal Magazine, Persimmon Tree, Tiferet, SWWIM, Vox Populi, and Verse Daily, among others. She has contributed to several anthologies, for example, Rumors, Secrets, & Lies: Poems about Pregnancy, Abortion, & Choice (Anhinga Press, 2022) and most recently, Keystone Poetry, Contemporary Poets on Pennsylvania (Penn State University Press, 2025). Her poetry has also been translated into Romanian and Korean. Her book reviews have appeared in several journals, for example, Prairie Schooner, Connotation Press, and MATTER. This year, Small-McKinney was nominated for the Best of the Net Anthology by Tahoma Literary Review and Best Spiritual Literature (Orison Books) by the Potomac Review.
