Allison Smartt is an L.A. based producer, sound engineer, designer, and educator specializing in theater, film, and dance. Her designs have been seen and heard at festivals and celebrated artsy institutions around the country. She has worked in production and technical direction at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Mount Holyoke College, and California Institute of the Arts Sharon Lund Disney School of Dance (where she was also on faculty). She runs Smartt Productions, which develops and tours innovative performances about social justice. Its repertory includes acclaimed solo-show about reproductive rights, MOM BABY GOD, and hip-hop theatre performance, Mixed-Race Mixtape, which released its full length studio album in February 2018. Her productions have toured nationally to seventeen cities and have been written about by Ms. Magazine, The Boston Globe, BITCH Magazine, and more.
