Angela Butkus was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and raised in Los Angeles since she was six months old, where she has emerged in a setting where art and literature held high importance. She has been writing poetry since she was eight years old and has been published in the Eclipse Literary Journal and Statement Magazine. Butkus attained a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from Cal State LA where she was given the opportunity to interview Black Panther Ericka Huggins and author Nalo Hopkinson, and found her love for art curation and magazine editing. She now edits SAPERE Magazine where she bridges the gap between beauty and wisdom through art, poetry and fashion from all over the world.
