Daryn Dickens, class of 2027, attends school in Washington, DC at Howard University. She was a member of the Varsity golf team, a tutor in the English Writing Center, and a Student Ambassador. Daryn aspires to become a lawyer. She wants to advocate for people that are less fortunate and lack access to resources. She recognizes that a large population of people do not have adequate access to education, healthcare, financial literacy, or legal representation. Speaking out and doing as much as she can for people in need is something she strives to do – whether it is community service or just being a leader in her community and school. Daryn desires equality for all persons and believes with a heavy heart that each and every person is deserving of an equal opportunity in the pursuit of justice and happiness. The principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion led her to organize weekend golf clinics for underrepresented youth and provided scholarships for those that had continued interest which supported her selection as a Girl Scout Gold Awardee. Her impact was noted when she was the guest speaker at National Golf Day on Capitol Hill.
