Deanne Stillman's books include Desert Reckoning, based on a Rolling Stone piece, winner of the Spur and LA Press Club Awards, an amazon editors' pick, and praised in Newsweek; Mustang, an LA Times "best book of the year" and now available in audio with an all-star cast including Anjelica Huston and Frances Fisher; and Twentynine Palms, an LA Times "best book of the year" which Hunter Thompson called "A strange and brilliant story by an important American writer." Her new book, Blood Brothers, will be published this fall by Simon and Schuster. She also writes for the LA Review of Books, literary hub, Angels Flight-Literary West, Slate, Salon and elsewhere. Her work appears in many anthologies, and she also writes for the stage and film. Additionally, she's a member of the core faculty at the UC Riverside-Palm Desert Low Residency MFA Creative Writing Program.
