John Fleck is an L.A.-based performance artist (one of the infamous NEA-4), as well as an actor. Fleck's latest solo show, Blacktop Highway, recently premiered at REDCAT and will be presented at Dixon Place NYC this fall. His last show Mad Women, won the 2012 LA Weekly Award for ‘Outstanding Solo Performance’. Other critically acclaimed solo shows include: Johnny’s Got a Gun, Nothin’ Beats Pussy, Blessed are all the Little Fishes and Psycho Opera. Past performance venues include: the ICA (London and Boston); The Warhol Museum (Pittsburg); The Public Theater, The Guggenheim Museum, PS-122, La Mama, Dixon Place & Joe’s Pub (NYC); The Broad Stage, The Getty Museum, Cal Plaza, MOCA, Bootleg (LA). Recent theater credits include: PEACE (Culture Clash @ the Getty Villa), Tobacco Road (La Jolla Playhouse), Noises Off (Cape Playhouse-Dennis, Mass.), She Stoops to Comedy, Small Craft Warnings, On the Jump (South Coast Rep), and The Mystery of Irma Vep (Tiffany Theater). TV/Film work includes: Criminal Minds, Anger Management, True Blood, Weeds, The Closer, Nip/Tuck, Carnivale, Startrek Enterprise, Seinfeld, Murder One, Tales of the City, Falling Down, Waterworld, etc., that enable him financial fluidity to create his, not necessarily for profit, performance art.
