Leah Eliza Balter is a student at Stanford University. She is originally from Baltimore, MD, and has spent significant time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) as a recipient of the National Security Language Initiative for Youth scholarship and Critical Language Scholarship for intensive Arabic studies. At Stanford, she is involved in the American Middle East Network for Dialogue at Stanford as a way to remain connected to the MENA region.
