Lucy Yao is a high school senior from Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, CA. Due to her love of literary analysis (something no one has said ever), she often delves into obscure symbolism and metaphors to demonstrate a deeper message with her poetry. In many cases, it often becomes the very centerpiece, leaving most of her poetry as fictional stories with all sorts of voices, ranging from ringmaster ghosts to a naive child's sticky notes. When she's not writing, she's talking, whether to read out her own slam poetry, interview and make bonds for her journalistic and club endeavors, or just ramble about her unfunded fashion and entertainment needs. Lucy is a member of The 309 Collective, a group of young California poets, writers, musicians, and artists.
