Mimi Lam double majored in Mathematics and Communication Arts with a focus in Production at Allegheny College. She searches for the universal truths in her acting and poetry, and tells the story of her Vietnamese family, culture, and community. Currently, Mimi serves as the Library Manager for a newly-found, Black-owned poetry library, the Sims Library of Poetry, in South Los Angeles, a predominantly Black and Brown, low-income community. Through her job, Mimi helps make poetry more accessible to the community and uplifts underrepresented voices in the literary world. She also practices Aikido, calligraphy, and Korean.
