Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City, Tracy Chen is a first-generation Chinese American student at Union College. This year, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology. After graduation she hopes to pursue her J.D. and work in immigration law or non-profit advocacy. Like Ross Gay, she is deeply in love with the city she is from, with the knowledge that the Big Apple is an amalgamation of vibrant culture and immense suffering. As an individual, she is deeply passionate about AAPI issues and immigrant rights. She loves studying the politics of social movements and grassroots mobilization. Lastly, as a fun fact, if she had to limit herself to one cuisine for the rest of her life, she would choose Vietnamese (don’t tell her mother)!
