A native of Warsaw, Poland, Zofia Kostyrko-Edwards has spent a lifetime telling stories. Her portraits are a catalyst to break stereotypes and celebrate the human spirit, and to inspire acceptance of others. Her paintings are held in multiple private collections and have been exhibited in group and individual gallery shows since 1985. Kostyrko’s most notable design roles include a 13-year tenure as a Walt Disney Imagineer and senior conceptual designer on the Disney Animal Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida in addition to clients like Cirque du Soleil, Universal Studios and Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. Her current show Oceanauts: Live the Dream of the Sea can be seen at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
