Your laptop goes to class with you. Your water bottle comes along for the walk, the bus ride, and the afternoon coffee stop. So why leave both looking exactly like everyone else’s?

A few stickers can give them a look you enjoy. Maybe you want to put tiny cats, a corner full of flowers, or a sleepy character who looks just as tired as you do on Monday. Here are some simple ideas to try.

Pick Your Stickers First

Think about where you want to put your stickers. Water bottles get wet, and you’ll need to wash them. A laptop lid gives you more room, but keep stickers away from the edges, hinges, and ports.

You can turn your own drawings into cheap vinyl stickers with Vograce. Before you order, check the size, how many you’ll get, and the delivery cost. The price shown may be for one size or a certain number of stickers.

For a bottle, check if the sticker can handle water and how to wash it. Being made from vinyl doesn’t always mean it’s safe for the dishwasher.

Give Your Favorite Character a Little Home

Do you draw the same character a lot? Try putting it on your bottle or laptop.

You could draw a little frog next to a mushroom for your bottle. On your laptop, it could peek over some books. Add a few leaves or stars if you like.

If you’re into cute anime art, try making your own character. Give it a happy, sleepy, or grumpy face. You don’t need to add words.

Leave some space around the character. If you add smaller stickers, make sure they don’t cover its face.

Make Your Bottle and Laptop a Matching Pair

Matching doesn’t have to mean using the same sticker twice.

Try a sun on your bottle and a moon on your laptop. Or put a strawberry on one and a little jam jar on the other. Two different drawings can still belong together.

Using the same two or three colors helps. For example, pink, cream, and green could work across fruit, flowers, and small animal designs.

This is also a nice idea for a shared project with a friend. Each of you can draw one half of the pair, then choose which design goes where.

Add a Few Words That Sound Like You

Sometimes a short phrase is all you need.

Think about something you actually say. “One more chapter” could sit beside a book drawing. “Snack break” might suit a small cat holding a cookie.

Other simple ideas include:

  • Your first name with a tiny flower.
  • A nickname your friends use.
  • “Still sleepy” beside a yawning character.
  • “Back soon” under a little walking duck.

Keep the words large enough to read at the finished size. Before ordering, print a paper copy at that size and look at it from a normal distance. If you have to lean in to read it, make the letters bigger.

Build a Collection Over Time

Can’t settle on one theme? You can leave room for a mix.

Start with one sticker from an artist you like. Later, add a small reminder of a trip, a hobby, or a day out with friends.

On a laptop, you could group them around the outer edges and leave the middle open. On a bottle, leave gaps for future additions.

You don’t need to fill every space now. A collection can grow as you find designs you want to keep.

  • Pro tip: Take a photo of each new layout before sticking anything down. It’s easier to compare two photos than remember where every piece was.

Try the Layout Before You Peel

Keep the backing on at first.

Close your laptop and place the stickers on the lid. Move them around to see where you like them best. For a bottle, cut paper into the same shapes as your stickers. Hold them against the bottle to check the size.

A big sticker might wrap too far around the bottle to see the whole picture. Try a smaller one or put a few small stickers up the side.

Keep stickers away from where you drink and where the lid seals shut. On your laptop, put them on the outside of the lid. Don’t cover vents, ports, hinges, or screws.

Ready to Try It?

Take out those stickers you’ve been keeping in a drawer and give them a spot. Try a few different places before peeling off the backing. Once you’re happy, stick them down and enjoy the result. You can leave some space for new finds, too.

The next time you buy a sticker from an artist or bring one home from a trip, you’ll have somewhere to put it. Soon, your bottle or laptop will hold little reminders of things you love.
