For those of you in Los Angeles, this week Cultural Weekly’s own Sarah Elgart and her short film GHOST STORY have the privilege of opening for the new feature length documentary entitled BIG TIME about Star-chitect Bjarke Ingels. Together they are kicking off the LA run of the Architecture and Design Film Festival starting this Wednesday March 14 at DTLA’s Los Angeles Theater Center.
GHOST STORY, filmed entirely at Bjarke Ingels’ DAM Award winning NYC “court scraper”, VIA 57 West, follows four dancers in search of a narrative as they prowl this iconic building. The film features Stephen Glassman’s eight story sculpture Flows Two Ways, the fashion of Issey Miyake, and music by Paris based Chapelier Fou. The dancers leave a ghost imprint as they respond to the fluidity of VIA’s art and architecture. GHOST STORY was produced by Stephen Glassman Studio.
BIG TIME follows Bjarke Ingels over a five year period, providing intimate insights into his life and process as he endeavors to complete enormous projects that will change the skyline of Manhattan including VIA 57 West and World Trade Center 2.
